After church, Celine calls Odessa to make sure the Powers family are all at home, then busies herself with preparing to leave to meet them. Finn is equally excited to be meeting new neighbors and happy for his mom. Also, he's almost as curious about Odessa as Celine is. He can't remember meeting someone he heard about online face-to face before.
Once Celine is in her chair, she wheels herself up the ramp and knocks on the door. Her grin is huge. She feels like she's waited for this day for most of her life.

Theo hoists the travel bag Celine packed with a fruit salad. He herds Verity out of the car. He is amazed at how excited Celine is. He hasn't seen her this happy since she found out she was pregnant, and this time he doesn't feel any nerves or hesitation from her. He feels himself catching her excitement.

Hearing a car pull up outside, Dixon checks outside the window and spots Theo and Celine first. "Hey, Dessa, babe, they're here!" he calls.

Celine wheels herself in, followed by Finn, who runs.
"I'm so glad to finally meet you guys!" Celine says. "Where are the kids? I know Finn and Verity probably want to meet them."

While the adults are exchanging pleasantries Verity has already disappeared into the house.

Finn follows Dixon into the living room. "Hi! I'm Finn. What movie are you watching?" he asks the kids.
Celine hugs Odessa carefully, though the fact that they are both pregnant makes it a little difficult. "How do you guys like it here so far?" she asks.

Damon glares at his older sister and responds, "Frozen. 'Cause she made us. We've seen it like a hundred times!"

Finn shrugs. "I like Olaf the snowman," he admits, sitting down to watch too.

Verity reappears from somewhere down the hall wearing a braided blond wig. "Mama, I'm Elsa!"
Theo looks to his daughter with dismay. "Verity, we need to ask before we borrow other peoples' things." To their hosts he says, "I'm so sorry. She likes to make herself at home."

Celine nods, eyeing Verity with a look that is gentle but firm. She wants her daughter to listen. "We also shouldn't go into other people's bedrooms without asking. I think the other kids are in the living room. Go back and give this to the little girl it belongs to. Then introduce yourself and say you're sorry." In a strange way, it is nice for Celine to see that Verity seems to like being here so far, but that doesn't excuse her. Celine glances at Theo as if to say, What are we going to do with her?
Finn, absorbed in watching the movie, doesn't hear the conversation. However, he's likely to do a double-take when he sees Verity.

Verity joins the kids and approaches the girl closest to her age. "Hi, I'm Elsa!" She says, stroking the frayed but shimmering braided wig.

Georgia frowns, cocking her head and staring at the other girl. In a split second, she whips the wig off Verity and pushes it onto her own head, squishing her natural curls beneath it. "What's your real name?" she asks, arms crossed and glaring, not meanly or judgingly, more curiously, at the girl. Living in a house with just her parents and two brothers, she's not used to other girls her age prancing around her house and taking her things.

Verity crosses her arms in return. "Verity Eve Elsa Anna Noble of Arendale! Return my hair AT ONCE!"
Theo excuses himself from the adults. "Elsa," he confronts, "front and center."
Verity complies but approaches her father, scowling. "She took it right off my head!"
Theo tries to control his face to avoid laughing. "You are responsible for your own behavior. When we are at someone else's house, we need to respect their things and ask before using them. That includes entering someone's room or using her things. Understand?"
Verity keeps her arms crossed but nods reluctantly. She returns to the group of children and Theo to the adults. His eyes dance with laughter. "I promise we are trying to tame the wild mare."

Dixon sighs, shaking his head as he watches the scene unfold. "I wish I could say we were having any luck with our own," he replies after Theo rejoins them. "Honestly, she picked the wrong girl to go head to head with. Georgia will more than stand her own. I think they're pretty equally matched and I don't know if we really wanna see what that could look like."

Celine stifles a giggle, but her eyes betray it. "My sisters Amy and Dawn were similar- most especially Amy! Sometimes I wonder if God puts these traits in our children- the two that are adopted- to connect them to our families, even though technically mine are my adoptive family as well. Then He laughs when we recognize parts of our relatives or ourselves!"
Meanwhile, back in the living room, but still close enough for his parents to see, Finn shakes his head. "Girls," he mutters to no one in particular. He wonders if Damon agrees with him.

Verity maintained her cross arms pose as she returns. "I am responsible for my own behavior," she states slowly with a regal cadence. "I forgive you for taking the hair off my head. And i'm sorry for going in your room without asking." She turns on her heel and collapses into the couch.
Theo returns at Celine's comment. "My mom always said that God gives us children who will help sanctify us. They show us our own weaknesses and make us deal with them!"

"I'm not gonna say sorry for taking it. It's mine and you never shoulda taken it first!" Georgia states, stamping her foot on the last word for emphasis. "I'm gonna go play in my room. Alone!"
Dixon grimaces aa he watches the girl storm off. "Sorry. She's been having a bit of a rough go with the move," he explains with a sheepish chuckle. "She has definitely forced us to deal with a lot. She's got quite the fiery personality, that one."

Celine laughs at Theo's return to her comment. "That's at least equally true."
As she sees Georgia storm off, Celine is torn between sympathy for her and sympathy for Verity.
"Moves can be hard," she says with a sigh. "I'm not sure that changes as you get older," she adds after a minute, thinking of how many times Ben and Robin have been to Africa and back.
"And as much as I hope this doesn't ruin the rest of the visit for Verity, I think there's a lesson to be learned here- maybe for both of them. We could all do with a little more of things like kindness, sharing, and empathy. Kindness because you never know what someone else is going through- I'm sure Verity didn't know Georgia was having a rough time. Verity has lived in Berkshire Glen her whole life. Sharing...because brushing up on that never hurts. And empathy because... has Georgia ever seen things in another little girl's room she wanted?"

Verity mumbles aloud. "Sheesh. She's dramatic."
Theo stifles a laugh. "Sometimes they have to figure things out for themselves. I think Verity has met her match. I hope they become good friends!"

"All girls are dramatic," Finn says without thinking, though he is half-teasing as he still likes Verity anyway.
Celine can't help laughing despite herself at hearing Finn's reply, though she hopes they will become good friends as well.
"Are we now? Don't forget- Mommy was a girl once," Celine reminds Finn.
Finn briefly comes into the room where the adults are to continue the conversation. "Really? You were a girl?" He can't imagine his mom ever acting like Georgia.
"I'll let you answer that one," Celine says to Theo, knowing Finn wants to know if Celine was ever dramatic. "I was seventeen when we met- but take a guess. I won't kill you. What did you think of me?" She knows their hosts are probably listening, but if they are going to be good friends, she'd like them to know, too.

Theo ruffles his son's hair. "Everyone is dramatic sometimes. Yes, Mom was a girl. And I'm sure she was dramatic. And sometimes she still is." He winks at his wife.
The adults settle into comfortable seating and The turns to the adults. "Tell us about you. How did you end up in Berkshire Glen? Are you involved around town?"
